The Ashland County Health Department is offering the award-winning A Matter of Balance program that is designed to manage falls and increase activity levels among older adults.
The free program consists of 8, 2-hour classes which will be held at the Loudonville Golden Center, located at the Loudonville Public Library, 122 E. Main Street. Each class builds on the previous class, so participants should attend every class. Classes will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. on Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2025.
Preregistration is required as class size is limited. Please call Jean Neel, RN, at 419-282-4340 to register.
During the classes, participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable and set realistic goals for increasing activity. They also find ways to change the environment to reduce fall risk factors and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance.
