TB Testing

TB is a bacterial infection that usually attacks the lungs, but can also attack any part of the body such as the kidney, spine and brain. Because not everyone infected with TB becomes sick, there are two TB-related conditions: latent TB infection (LTBI) and TB disease.

Sewage Treatment Systems

The Household Sewage Treatment System Program assures all new or replacement household sewage treatment systems are installed under permit and in accordance with local and state requirements.

Private Water Systems

Ashland County residents who are not connected to the public water supply may use a private water system (PWS) on their property. Source water from private water systems may come from wells, cisterns, hauled water storage tanks, ponds, or springs.

Nuisance Complaint

We perform complaint inspections for public health nuisances.

Mosquitoes and Ticks

Mosquitoes and ticks are bloodsucking insects known as vectors. They can transmit pathogens between humans, or from animals to humans. These pathogens cause disease. Once a vector becomes infectious, they can transmit the pathogen to every host they feed on for the rest of their life.
